Creepy Animals, who are not creepy at all mind you, are a collection of animals real and fictional from around the world. Here to make you and your child smile and laugh, we hope you find our book as fun to read as it was to illustrate it.
The Story of Creepy Animals
Waaay back in 2012 a good friend of mine was having a child while at the same time moving to another state. I wanted them to have a special gift that no one else could give them. A kids book that an adult could enjoy too. I'm not to proud to admit the first iteration would probably have terrified both. The drawings looked a lot more like the Rabbit. I settled on making some very colorful – maybe not quite realistic, simple shaped characters that could be distinguished and enjoyed by anyone, young or old(er).
I would have left them there like that, drawing and animal name, but as I told Sam that some of them had their own stories, she encouraged me to give them their stories in the book. She wasn't wrong, Sam is very smart, which also makes me smart for listening to her. Both, very good, very smart. I have since started to revisit the drawings during holidays and just for fun, because I've always loved them, and I always will.
